I stripped the engine to pieces and it was the big end bearing gone on the no.3 cylinder....It was completely gone,and the crank damaged badly.I gave the engine to the engineers and they supplied a new crankshaft and a new conrod for it,and the full gasket set as well. The owner said he want the engine to be rebuild like it is in the show cars.No problem.He told me what colours he would like to see on it and i started to do the job. I cleaned and degreased the parts and resprayed them. He wanted a black gearbox: The new crank: The pistons needed a good clean cause the grooves had a lot of dirt in them behind the rings: This is from there from 1 piston: All done,ready to fit. The engineers done their job on the engine...its re bored,the block skimmed,the head skimmed and converted to unleaded fuel,the crank polished all new parts are here,so i started rebuild the engine... First of all cleaned and degreased the parts,and resprayed them. Continue soon...
I have done everything on the Rapier,took it for a test drive,running fine,brakes work fine,re checked the valve clearances,no sign of oil or coolant leak,gearbox ok and the over drive working as well. The time is here to go home. Here is some final picture: See you on the classic car shows... :)
I've done the brackets for the heater motor and the servo,they need paint,and the heater motor a bit rusty as well so its also need a paint. Reassembling: And fit the trunking.... Continue soon....
