Sorry for a late... We experienced some brake problem on the vehicle, what needed to be sorted...the clutch and brake master cylinder have been a way for recondition them. After when they come back I've fitted both, but the brake master cyl doesn't wanted to work properly,I tried all the tricked, its failed twice on a test drive. We had to get another one, which is wasn't easy. Managed to get a brand new old stock.....this one worked much better, but we had some trouble with it as well. Now everything is sorted and settled, and finally she is gone home. The owner said the engine running like a dream, and he also said its looks better then ever.... :) :) :) A few weeks later the owner visited me and gave me something...this is MEANS A LOT TO ME!!! I've made a picture of it and share with you here: THANK YOU MR BROWN!!!!!

Now the engine works fine...,but there is something else to do...the owner asked me to fit a coolant temp gauge, if its possible. This model hasn't got a gauge fitted in the dash originally.I said i will fit it,but i wanted to do it on a right way.I was thinking a lot how could i fit it to be visible and not to make modification on the original dash to ruin the originality. The gauge is a Smith 52mm gauge in magnolia. I thought i found a right solution... Lets start it. The gauge will sit in it with a small angle,to make it more visible... Its needs to be painted to match with the colour of the dash. I sprayed the primer on and rubbed it...i doesn't needed any filler on,ive done the metal work smooth enough... :) Now i show you where is fitted in the car... The owner likes it...i do...i hope you do as well...
Continue soon... Engine bay re-sprayed,nuts and bolts re-zinced,but i had to restore some more parts which belongs to the engine and engine bay, such as heater motor and heater unit, horn, dynamo, starter, carb etc... Here they are: Lets get the engine bay ready: Take another look on the engine before it goes back... Now lift the engine back where it belongs to... And get it ready for the first start... Started it, runs ok ,needed adjust the carb and check the ignition timing, now its running smooth, start fine when its cold and hot as well.
Now waiting to get the clutch and brake master cylinders back. Continue soon... Parts are painted, lets put them together... Nearly ready to refit, but the owner would like to get the engine bay resprayed before i fit the engine in it.... I removed the bits from the bay and prepared it for a respray... And resprayed it... Continue soon...
The engineers done their job on the engine...its re bored, the block skimmed, the head skimmed and converted to unleaded fuel, the crank polished all new parts are here,so i started rebuild the engine... First of all cleaned and degreased the parts, and resprayed them. Continue soon...
When i removed the cyl head,i've suspected some more problems, and i rang the owner to ask him to come to the workshop and discuss what we should do. At the end of the conversation,we agreed the best thing to do to remove the engine from the vehicle, and inspect it,clean it,restore-rebuild it. So lets remove the engine... Continue soon...
A Ford Consul MK1 arrived to the workshop from a customer. The vehicle is in a really good condition for her age,but she spent a long time in a dealership room from her life ,which is helped to keep herself in a good state. She came for find out why she is running rough, and she is using some water (coolant) as well. Suggested the head gasket fault,so after the compression test was done, i removed the cyl head. Continue soon...
