We have to build a bonnet now. The original one was too far gone. Damaged,rusty,badly repaired. Decided to build a new one with only a few bits saved from the original. More pictures about the work: Lead loading here and there... Now its time to refit the engine frames.This time we had to replace the right hand side one,others were replaced before.
The work completed now.....sorry ,but I didn't had chance to update the blog in the last few months...I do it now... The back end of the shell has been "repaired" previously....quite badly we had to consider what is the best to do to get the best result.... not much choice what can lead to the best: cut all the bad bits out and replace them ==> rebuild the back end: the pics shows why. The work continues...…, here is the story by pictures...:) Now let see what the left side hiding... Hello everyone! This topic is about body restoration to a Jaguar E Type series1 3.8 from 1962. Early car (but not flat floor),roadster,LHD…. My customer stripped the car ,and removed the paint back to bare metal,which revealed the truth,and we had to realise there is a lot more need doing ,then it was planned..... Wanted to keep as much from the original shell as we can, not replacing everything with new panels...... there it was so much repair--Not High Standard!!- done to it previously …..you will see it,the pictures speak for themsheves… Here they are: |
